Description

Knowledge before soldering:

Solder is used as a kind of glue to hold pieces of metal together and conduct electricity and heat between them.

To do this, you need to apply a metal that has a melting point lower than any of the metals being joined, else they will melt first.

Before soldering, you must clear the parts to be soldered firstly, you can using a wire brush or sandpaper (not steel wool, bits of which can drop on your work and create short circuits).

The steps for the soldering:

Before using a soldering iron, please make sure the iron tip is clean, without any ox side or solder on the tip. You can replace the iron tip for different types of work.

Power up the soldering iron and adjust its temperature to 250°C to warm your soldering iron for at least 1 minute. After warming the soldering iron, you can select a specific temperature for different projects by using the heat control.

Touch the soldering iron tip to the component you want to solder. After a second or two, introduce the solder to the joint area. The heat will conduct to the solder and cause it to flow. This entire process should only take 3 or 4 seconds, but it is important for the solder to flow to ensure a good electrical contact.

Remove the solder first. Then, remove the iron. Make sure the joint remains stationary while it cools. A smooth, shiny and volcano shaped joint is what you are looking for. If this isn't what you see, you'll need to clean your soldering iron by using a wet sponge and reheat and feed in more solder.

How To Use

1) Unplug the soldering iron and allow it to cool completely.
2) Unscrew the locking nut that holds the tip-retaining sleeve and tip in place.
3) Remove the original iron tip.
4) Place the desired tip into the retaining sleeve and screw it tightly.
